The first podcast I heard with Naval was in 2019 when he was on the Rogan; here. I recently heard it again after Modern Wisdom host Chris Williamson said it was one of his top podcasts he revisits here. This time, Naval sits with Chris to analyze his past tweets/quotes, provide depth, and demonstrate how he changed his mind. In the podcast, he shares his love of asking thought-provoking questions to his kids, ages 8 and 6, including the title of this post, “What is the Matrix?” Overall, it is a great podcast full of insightful perspectives and information to support and even challenge your existing ideas. Below are a few take aways.
TLDR:
- “If you so smart, why aren’t you happy? Why can’t you figure that one out?”
- Holistic Selfishness: Putting yourself first, don’t do something you don’t want to do.
- Best places to spend wealth: he quotes Elon, who plugs his own money back into his business to do bigger and better things for humanity
- Worst places to spend wealth: If it “Flies, Floats or Fornicates …rent it.”
- “There is an advantage to starting out as a loser: then you would want to be a winner and develop all the characteristics to be a winner in life… can’t artificially do it.”
- “The reason to will the game is to be free of it.”
Hope you learned something.
