TDLR:
- There is a decrease in mortality amongst individuals above 50 years old, associated with greater muscle mass
- Best place to start for individuals is tracking their diet and implementing small changes. Optimization would including focusing on hitting daily protein and caloric requirements (if muscle growth is the goal). If weight loss is the goal, weight tracking and maintaining a caloric deficit might be a starting point.
- If looking for supplementation, find companies who are straight forward with ingredients, avoiding propriety blends.
